about meKris Lowrey is a Ph.D. candidate in Composition and Applied Linguistics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an instructor in the English Language Program at Virginia Commonwealth University. She lives in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and son.
Her research interests include archival research, feminist research methods, and multilingualism in the United States. Her dissertation research recovers the literacy practices of the nineteenth century Pennsylvania Dutch to not only more fully understand how this group negotiated their multiple identities and languages, but also recognize and normalize their experiences as an inseparable part of the history of composition and rhetoric.
